Does this sound familiar?

Homework ends in tears. Confidence is dropping. Something just ‘isn’t right’, however hard they try. School says they’ll catch up — but your instinct says something more is going on.

Around one in ten children has dyslexia or a similar learning difference. With the right support, they’ll become more confident, independent learners. The first step is simply a conversation.

Nicole Pollen working one-to-one with a child at a table

Hello, I'm Nicole

I'm a specialist dyslexia teacher and assessor near Tunbridge Wells, working with families across West Kent and surrounding areas. Whether you're looking for answers through assessment or ongoing support through teaching, you'll deal directly with me from the first conversation onwards.

Assessment or specialist teaching?

Why choose an assessment?

A specialist assessment does more than identify dyslexia. It helps explain why a child may be finding learning difficult, highlights strengths as well as challenges, and provides clear recommendations for home and school. Many families tell me that having answers and a clearer understanding of their child's needs is a huge relief.

Why choose specialist teaching?

A dyslexia assessment can provide valuable insights, but it isn't a requirement for specialist teaching. Many children come to me before any assessment has taken place. Through structured, personalised teaching, I help children develop the skills, strategies and confidence they need to make progress and feel more successful in their learning.
